The past few
months everyone in America has been watching the
debates, comments and criticisms of both party's
nominees for the upcoming US Presidential
election. As exciting as this is, and as much as
it warrants our attention as voters, we must not
let that override our focus on God's land and
chosen people. This past June, according to an
article on the United Kingdoms website the Telegraph, former US Ambassador to
the United Nations John Bolton has predicted that
Israel could attack Iran after the November
presidential election but before George W Bush's
successor is sworn in.
All due respect to
Mr. Bolton, but I simply don't see this
happening. It doesn't fit any of the End Time
scenarios described in the Bible.
If Israel attacks
Iran, Iran retaliates with indescribable force
against Israel and would, as Irans
President Ahmadenijad has said, wipe them off the
map. However, we know that type of an offensive
by Iran against Israel doesn't take place until
the Gog/Magog conflict of Ezekiel
38-39,
which this scenario doesn't fit, for Russian
forces aren't directly involved in the current
situation, but theyre shown to participate
during the Ezekiel Scriptures. If the United
States attacks Iran, same scenario. Iran
retaliates against Israel as their proxy target.
Which leaves me
with one thought: This attack against Iran will
never take place. What will happen first, I
believe, is Syria will attack Israel by air with
biological/chemical weapons (already supplied by
Iran), forcing Israel's retaliation
against Damascus, thereby fulfilling Isaiah
17:1. This
infuriates the Arab world to such an extent that
the Gog/Magog attack comes shortly after, by way
of land, fulfilling Ezekiel 38-39 by laying waste to their
forces upon the mountains of Israel (Ezekiel
38:8, 39:2,4, & 17).
What we must now
consider is how close these events are to
fruition: Israel feels a time constraint due
America's President taking office in only a few
months, and they're already
training for an airborne incursion into
Iran. If they're planning on taking action that
soon, I believe the destruction of Damascus is
very near.
Also, I believe
there is a correlation between what's about to
happen with Damascus and Psalm 83. I think Psalm
83:6-7 is
speaking of Israel's 'near enemies' of
today: specifically the Palestinian Authority,
Hamas and Hezbollah, and the entire Psalm of their destruction. By
the way, those organizations are all
headquartered in Damascus. So when Damascus is
destroyed, so will the aforementioned
organizations.
As I said before,
when this takes place it will infuriate Israel's 'far
enemies', the coalition of Ezekiel
38-39,
who will attack during the later conflict of
Gog/Magog.
All we can
actually do is surmise when these events will
occur. We dont have direct knowledge of
Gods timetable. However it plays out, what
a time to be alive and serving the Lord! If you
