The power base of
the Antichrist from where he will rise to power,
the European Union, made its' feelings known in
regards to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, and
the incident flew completely under the radar of
the world press. With not so much as a blip on
the screen it went unnoticed by even the prophecy
television shows and web sites on the Internet. I
know, for I watched the shows and sites closely.
It's been a little over a month, and the best I
can tell, not a word has been said. Before we delve into the
EU's statement, let's backtrack a little and see
what the Bible says about the Antichrist and his
power base...
The European Union
is the 'revived Roman empire' spoken of by the
Apostle John, and the organization from which the
Antichrist will rise to power and eventually
dominate the world. We can be assured of this by
God's Word in the Bible:
"And
after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be
cut off, but not for himself: and the people of
the prince that shall come shall destroy the city
and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be
with a flood, and unto the end of the war
desolations are determined." ( Daniel 9:26 )
1. The "prince
that shall come" is the Antichrist. The original
Hebrew text uses the word "nawgheed"
which means "commander, leader or
ruler". Therefore, the term Antichrist
is not symbolically or allegorically referring to
a 'mind set of evil' or a 'coalition of forces',
but an actual human being.
2. The "people
of the prince that shall come shall destroy the
city and the sanctuary" is referring to the
nationality of those who destroyed Jerusalem and
the Temple in 70 A.D., which was the Romans under
the leadership of Titus. ( This was also
documented by secular Jewish historian and
eyewitness Josephus. )
Not since the old
Roman Empire of two thousand years ago has Europe
been united. But the 'revived Roman Empire' is
now taking place under the name of the European
Union.
Now we get to the
meat of the story, and why prophetic ears should
have immediately gone on point...
On Friday,
July 23, 2004, European Union envoy Javier Solana
met with Israeli officials in Tel Aviv at the end
of a two day visit in which Israel voiced its'
concerns over the EU's United Nations vote
against Israel's separation fence. Speaking with
Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom, Solana
stated, 'the EU would be involved in any
Israeli-Palestinian peace process whether Israel
likes it or not.'
Shalom stated that
he found himself "challenged to convince
the Israeli people that the European Union is a
[diplomatic] partner we can trust." To
which Solana replied, "We will be
involved whether you want us or not."
The Bible says the
Antichrist will make a peace pact with Israel for
seven years:
"And
he shall confirm the covenant with many for one
week..." ( Daniel 9:27 )
The Antichrist
cannot come to power until the Holy Spirit
indwelt Church, the restrainer, is taken to the
Father's house in the Rapture ( John
14:2-3 ).
But already, the Antichrist's power base, the
European Union, is developing their mind set of
'peace negotiator' in preparation for his
leading.
No where in
Scripture is the Church told to watch for the
appearing of the Antichrist. On the contrary,
Lord Jesus always tells the Church to watch for
His coming:
"And
what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch."
( Mark 13:37 )
"Take
ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the
time is." ( Mark 13:33 )
"Watch
ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of
the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at
the cockcrowing, or in the morning:" ( Mark
13:35 )
He tells us that
if we pay attention to the signs, we will know
that His coming is near:
"And
when these things begin to come to pass, then
look up, and lift up your heads; for your
redemption draweth nigh." ( Luke 21:28 )
If the signs of
the Tribulation are this close, the Rapture of
the Church by our Lord and Savior Jesus is even
closer. The Antichrist's power base has shown
its' hand.
Lord Jesus is
about to show His.
