The same can be said for mankind in general. With terrorist attacks on a global scale increasing, most have again turned to man to 'fix it'. The most current attempt is the Roadmap to Peace, offered up as a solution to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. This Roadmap is not working, just as the Oslo Accords did not work, and again man is left lacking and wanting for more. Something always seems to be missing.

Jesus said:

"Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." ( Matthew 7:14 KJV )

The narrow way is seldom the chosen path for man. Most want to take the wide path that offers options and leaves man in control of his own destiny. Most aren't enthused with relinquishing authority over their lives to anyone. But civilization has come to the point that all of its' options have been exhausted, and it must realize that man is not in control after all. Which brings us to the real roadmap to peace, and the Truth that is the narrow way:

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." ( John 14:6 KJV )

Man's problems cannot be fixed by man. In six thousand years of human history, the only thing that's flourished is population. Sickness is at an all-time high, people around the world are starving, and peace cannot be found. Jesus told us that we would have trials in this earthly life, but that if we would place our faith in Him instead of man, we would endure and be at peace:

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." ( John 16:33 KJV )

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." ( John 14:27 KJV )

But the majority of man still refuses to turn to the One who can offer a solution and true peace:

"He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not." ( Isaiah 53:3 KJV )

As has always been, and now even more, there come wars and rumors of wars, famines, pestilences, and no peace to be found for man personally, or mankind in general. Man cannot fix man's problems, and with that must turn to the only true Roadmap to Peace:

"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:" ( Romans 5:1 KJV )
