Who Do You Fear?
Here is only a small sample of the news stories that have been aired this past week:

• Latest Bin Laden audio implies imminent suicide martyrdom attacks against American and Israeli targets

• Department of Homeland Security upgrades terrorist threat level to "high"

• Missile launchers deployed around Washington D.C. in preparation for possible air attack

• Bio-weapon detectors deployed in New York City subway system

• 'Hercules Teams', S.W.A.T. type special operations units, deployed in and around New York City

• C.I.A. Director Tenet proclaims North Korea has intercontinental ballistic missile capable of striking western U.S.

• Americans told to prepare emergency kits and safe rooms in case of nuclear or biological attack

These are tragic days we live in. But, God's Word in the Bible tells us these events should come as no surprise:

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come." (2 Timothy 3:1)

Everything prophesied thousands of years ago in the Bible for the last days is now coming to pass. We are going to see terrible things take place between now and the Rapture of the Church. Lives will be lost, but more sadly, so will souls:

"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." (Matthew 10:28)

It's human nature to be fearful of the wrath of man. But we should be more fearful of the judgement of the Lord, and utilize our knowledge of Him in an attempt to convince others of His power and authority over our lives:

"Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences." (2 Corinthians 5:11)

Who do you fear most: man or God? Those who can kill the body, or the One who can destroy the soul? We who have Jesus as Lord and Savior do not fear the terrible events that are probably about to take place on our very doorstep, for we know that even if the body dies, the soul lives on with Him, and we will physically live again as He has promised. You can feel secure and have peace in this knowledge also, if you make the decision now to commit yourself to Jesus and receive Him as your Lord and Savior. Time is growing short, but it's not too late...yet.
