"For
the prophecy came not in old time by the will of
man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved
by the Holy Ghost." (2 Peter 1:21) Does God currently speak to
His chosen people as He spoke to them in earlier
times? By inspiration of the Holy Spirit, King
David penned the following, of how God would deal
with enemies who come against His beloved Israel:
"...shoot
out thine arrows, and destroy them." (Psalms
144:6)
Israel, in
cooperation with the United States, has developed
the most advanced missile defense system in the
world. The name chosen by Israel for its' new
defense system, is "Arrow". Much improved over
the U.S. made Patriot missile used in the Gulf
War of the early 1990's, the Arrow is designed to
intercept incoming enemy missiles at a higher
altitude.
The Apostle John,
also writing by inspiration of the Holy Spirit,
says in the Revelation:
"...there
followed hail and fire mingled with
blood..." (Revelation 8:7)
As the nation of
Israel prepares for a possible attack by Iraq,
they entered a higher stage of alert on
Wednesday, January 15. The name chosen by Israel
for this advanced state of national defense, is
"Red
Hail". Israel has distributed gas
masks to Israeli citizens, and is utilizing
television and radio instructions on how to
respond if a chemical or biological weapons
strike takes place against their nation.
Does God currently
speak to His chosen people as He spoke to them in
earlier times? Absolutely, but for the moment,
they don't realize what He's telling them:
"But
their minds were blinded: for until this day
remaineth the same veil untaken away in the
reading of the old testament; which veil is done
away in Christ." (2 Corinthians 3:14)
It's not just a
coincidence that Israel chose the names 'Arrow'
and 'Red Hail'. God is talking to Israel,
providing forwarning for the terrible time of
trouble that's soon coming to their doorstep in
the Tribulation. But, He's also showing them to
whom they will need to turn, in order to
understand Him clearly:
"Nevertheless
when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be
taken away." (2 Corinthians 3:16)
As Christians, we
love Israel, and pray for health, happiness,
prosperity and peace for God's chosen people.
But, our heart weeps for them, that they don't
yet realize by God's Word what's coming, and what
they will have to endure for them to see their
one, true Savior.
God is talking to
you, Israel...please listen.
